Electrical Compliance Manager & Qualifying Supervisor – Ipswich
£45,000-£55,000 + package (DOE)
Jark Cambridge are proud to be working exclusively with this award‑winning M&E firm based in Ipswich. We have been appointed to support them on an Electrical Compliance Manager & Qualifying Supervisor opening.
Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical installation standards as dictated by BS 7671 and audited by NICIEC.
- Be available for yearly audits and maintain internal filing systems with correct documentation for review during audits (e.g. test equipment calibration certificates, test certificates and regulation updates).
- Conduct office‑based role with site audits & inspections.
- Act as the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor for our accreditation.
- Provide expert technical support to electricians across multiple contracts.
- Deliver technical and health & safety toolbox talks to electrical staff.
- Carry out regular quality control inspections on works in progress and completed jobs.
- Ensure all electrical works meet statutory regulations, industry standards and organisational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IEE Wiring Regulations at all times, and that appropriate materials are used.
- Carry out and complete all works to high quality and in a competent manner, leaving premises clean and tidy.
- Work with, and provide information relating to technical matters, to any group as directed by Line Manager.
- Liaise with other staff, surveyors and sub‑contractors as necessary to ensure timely completion of works within agreed operational targets.
- Ensure that any required qualifications for your team are valid and that any necessary training is arranged and undertaken within specified timescales.
- Attend meetings, training sessions and Tool Box Talks as required.
- Act at all times in accordance with the Company’s rules, policies, procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
- Electrical Qualifying Supervisor experience.
- Fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition (BS 7671) certification.
- City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Testing & Inspection qualification.
- Recognised existing Qualified Supervisor status with NICEIC/NAPIT (or equivalent) – advantageous.
- Strong experience supervising electrical works, ideally within social housing or similar residential settings.
- Solid understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance obligations.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
