Job summary

SII Group UK is seeking an Electrical AIT Technician to support the integration, validation and operational testing of spacecraft and payload systems throughout the assembly, integration and test lifecycle. This hands-on role operates in cleanroom environments to ensure safe, compliant test operations and timely delivery of mission-critical space hardware.

Job description

We are seeking an ELECTRICAL AIT TECHNICIAN to support the integration, validation and operational testing of spacecraft and payload systems throughout the assembly, integration and test lifecycle. This hands‑on role involves executing electrical integration activities, validating test equipment. Working within cleanroom environments, the successful candidate will ensure safe and compliant test operations while contributing to anomaly resolution, process improvement and delivery of mission‑critical space hardware.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Execute electrical integration and test operations on spacecraft and payload equipment.
  • Configure, validate and operate Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).
  • Verify and validate test aids, harnesses and supporting equipment before use.
  • Perform electrical equipment installation, connection and health checks.
  • Execute functional, performance and system‑level validation tests.
  • Support testing in cleanroom and environmental test facilities, including:
  • Thermal vacuum testing
  • EMC testing
  • Vibration testing
  • Final acceptance testing
  • Support launch campaign preparation and final spacecraft configuration activities.
  • Conduct electrical measurements and diagnostics using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters and ohmmeters.
  • Record and report test results, anomalies and non‑conformances.
  • Produce red‑lined procedures and as‑run documentation.
  • Ensure traceability records are completed accurately.
  • Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow quality, safety and operational procedures at all times.
  • Generate activity reports and provide status updates against operational schedules.
Skills Required
  • Electrical integration and test experience within a complex engineering environment.
  • Experience executing functional and validation test procedures.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, power systems and electronic hardware.
  • Ability to perform electrical measurements, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, wiring information and integration procedures.
  • Knowledge of system validation and verification processes.
  • Experience working in controlled or regulated environments.
