Job summary

OHG PLC Elective Surgery Hub in Scunthorpe is seeking experienced Anaesthetic Nurses or ODPs to join our specialist theatre team. You will provide high‑quality anaesthetic support for elective orthopaedic and spinal procedures, working with Consultant Anaesthetists, Surgeons and the wider multidisciplinary team in our modern facility.

You must hold current NMC registration as a Nurse or HCPC registration as an ODP, with experience in anaesthesia and a strong commitment to patient safety and

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
• HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner.
• Experience in anaesthetic environment.
• Experience supporting elective surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of major orthopaedic and spinal surgery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled anaesthetic support in the operating theatre.
• Prepare anaesthetic room, equipment, drugs and consumables prior to procedures.
• Support Consultant Anaesthetists during induction, maintenance and emergence from anaesthesia.
• Assist with airway management and emergency situations within competency.
• Monitor and maintain patient safety throughout the anaesthetic phase.
• Support safe patient positioning and transfer with the theatre team.
• Maintain accurate anaesthetic records and relevant peri‑operative documentation.
• Participate in theatre governance, safety checks and quality improvement.
