Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in Paediatric Orthopaedics to deliver high-quality pediatric care in Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley. The role includes leadership of a multidisciplinary team and development of paediatric training and collaboration with regional services.

The post is a fixed-term locum for 12 months, with 8 sessions per week and a 1:4 on-call commitment. Applicants should have full GMC registration and CCT in orthopaedic surgery.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with license to practise.
• MB ChB or FRCS (T&O) or equivalent.
• Trained to level 3 children’s safeguarding.
• CCT or equivalent in orthopaedic surgery.
• Comprehensive training in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery; fellowship experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality secondary and tertiary paediatric orthopaedic service for Oxfordshire and Thames Valley.
• Support the multidisciplinary team and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Develop clinical collaboration with paediatric services in Oxford and Buckinghamshire.
• Develop paediatric training in orthopaedics with trainees and provide teaching.
• Comply with Royal College and national guidance on paediatric orthopaedic services.
