Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a midwife to provide care for women and families during elective caesarean pathways. You will set and uphold care standards, mentor junior staff, and work with the Flow and Capacity team to optimise scheduling and patient preparation.

In this role you will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care, promote education and health promotion, and maintain a safe, well-equipped environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for women and families during elective caesarean process.
• Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation.
• Support and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with Flow and Capacity coordinator to review and schedule elective caesarean section requests.
• Support and liaise with women planning a caesarean to ensure they are fully prepared for their journey.
• Deliver high standard Midwifery care based on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to meet women’s needs.

As part of our team, your duties will include, but not be limited to: Providing care for women and families during the elective caesarean process.
