EL/PL Solicitor - Leeds

We have an exciting role within a leading Insurance team in Leeds. This position offers hybrid working arrangements.

About the team:

We are seeking a casualty solicitor with 5-10 years of PQE to join our Casualty team in Leeds. The work is fast-paced, varied, and challenging. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training in our internal practices and procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide initial prospects and opinions to insurers on a wide range of disputes, including those related to employers' liability and public liability within the social welfare, equine, and construction sectors.
2. Manage a personal caseload, including recommending reserves and setting strategies under supervision of a Partner.
3. Support the Head of Department in supervising solicitors and paralegals, and in achieving strategic departmental goals. Contribute to meeting fee targets and support the development of junior team members.
4. Handle a mixed caseload of fast track, intermediate, and multi-track work.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Existing defendant personal injury litigation experience in EL/PL and professional liability claims involving personal injury.
2. Thorough understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules.
3. Experience managing own caseload with appropriate supervision.
4. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload.
