Primary Function

Responsible for administering electrocardiograms, applying Holter monitors and carrying out various office and clerical duties.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrocardiograms daily for emergency and routine care to inpatients and outpatients.
  • Apply Holter monitor to patients explaining how they are used.
  • Edit all EKG reports and transcribe all Holter and echocardiogram reports.
  • Assist RNs with stress and nuclear testing.
  • Act as preceptor in training new staff members.
  • Schedule cardiology testing for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Input medical data into the computer for billing purposes.
  • Generate and prepare unedited EKG reports daily for interpretation by cardiologist.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and prepare it for the next shift.
  • Transports patients to and from room for testing.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications

Vocational/technical training and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
