Job summary

A global manufacturing company in Kent is looking for an EHS Manager to oversee health and safety on site. The successful candidate will manage contractors, perform audits, and provide training to site operatives. Ideal applicants will have a NEBOSH certificate and experience in a related field. This contract offers a daily rate of up to £400 with the potential for extension.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of CDM and handling demolitions and heavy lifting.

Job Details

Position: EHS Manager

Location: Kent, England

Contract: Initial 6‑month duration with high likelihood of extension

Scope: Engage a global manufacturing company to undertake a key project on one of their sites in Kent, managing and leading all health and safety duties through completion.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all contractors on site, ensuring best practice is maintained and identify key areas for improvement
  • Deliver support and training to site operatives on health, safety and environmental issues as required
  • Perform regular audits and inspections across site, accurately reporting on findings
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and legislation, striving to reach industry best practice
  • Develop and maintain key systems, staying on top of the permitting process
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or a related industry
  • CDM knowledge is desirable, as well as experience handling demolitions and heavy lifting activities
  • NEBOSH or equivalent Certificate and relevant membership of IOSH (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging colleagues at all levels
