On July 1, 2025, IPL Plastics merged with Schoeller Allibert to form IPL Schoeller (the ‘company’). The Company’s operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants) and Europe (16 manufacturing plants).

IPL Schoeller is a leading manufacturer of sustainable rigid packaging solutions across a range of end market segments including returnable transit packaging, consumer and industrial packaging, environmental containers and agricultural packaging. The role
As EHS Manager, you will be part of the Site Management team and will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations are compliant with environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Your expertise will be pivotal in developing, implementing, and managing our environmental health and safety programmes and ensuring our compliance with EA requirements.
- You will collaborate closely with various departments to identify potential risks, promote best practices, and foster a culture of safety within the organisation.
- You will have a comprehensive understanding of EHS regulations and have the ability to navigate complex compliance frameworks and ensure our procedures and documents meet requirements.
- Your insights will directly influence our sustainability initiatives, as you help creatively align our safety protocols with environmentally responsible practices. In this multifaceted role, you will be the driving force behind accident prevention strategies and will take the lead in incident investigations.
- You will empower teams to achieve outstanding safety performance while minimizing potential environmental impacts, thereby aligning with our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant EHS regulations and standards, such as (but not limited to) ISO 45001 & ISO9001.
- Provide training and guidance to all employees on EHS best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor, analyse and report on EHS performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Lead and conduct regular audits and inspections to identify any non-conformances, safety hazards and areas for improvement, developing action plans where required.
- Provide appropriate guidance and direction at site level with interventions as required to remove obstacles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate EHS considerations into operational projects and processes.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally to build trust and deliver global EHS programmes
Qualifications and Experience
- General Qualification in Occupational Safety, Environment or a related field
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent standard
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety management, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards relevant to the industry; packaging and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of or previous experience working within a waste recycling plant would be beneficial, as would experience adhering to a EA (Environment Agency) waste recycling permit
