Job description
THE POSITION

We are hiring an EHS Advisor - Health & Wellbeing on a part-time basis. You will liaise with the Global Be Healthy team, manage the development, implementation, standardisation and maintenance of health programs, procedures and initiatives across the UKIE to deliver proactive health behaviours and strategies to enable employees to work in a way that minimises impact to their health ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

This is a part-time permanent position requiring 3 days a week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Health Management:
  • Manage the contract for outsourced Occupational Health services
  • Liaise with Occupational Health to manage the health surveillance program to ensure attendance at appointments, following up outputs with area managers
  • Support site visits from occupational health professionals
  • Coordinate with Occupational Health, Human Resources and EHS team to support case management and return to work
  • Manage the contract for outsourced industrial hygiene services. Coordinating and supporting the activities, liaising with internal departments and EHS teams to implement outcomes
  • Participate in the creation, development and maintenance of documentation such as local SOPs and Risk assessments
  • Lead in reporting health data to corporate systems to meet CSRD requirements
  • Participate in Global EHS audits and regulatory visits as required
  • Participate as required in incident, near miss and accident investigations in conjunction with the wider EHS team
  • Ensure proactive and open communication of information to line manager and Global EHS, so that local regulatory requirements and commitments are reflected appropriately
  • Support the follow up and close out of identified actions from investigations, risk assessments, inspections and audits
Be Healthy Coordination:
  • Represent UKIE on the Global Be Healthy network
  • Develop the UKIE Be Healthy road map
  • Lead the health navigator network in UKIE
  • Identify training gaps and or external courses to enhance the training curricular
  • Develop targeted training courses to support the training curricular
  • Deliver training as required across the ROPU
  • Manage voluntary preventative care appointments (eg Know your numbers) and vaccination clinics provided by third party service providers
Promote improvement in the health culture across UKIE:
  • Attend EHS committee meetings as required and assist manage any resulting actions
  • Communicate and share key learnings from trends in health reporting
  • Generate and manage health awareness campaigns
  • Generate, develop and manage educational and prevention programs in conjunction with the Health Navigators and occupational health
  • Generation and promote health KPIs
  • Actively participate in Tier 1 meetings with Wider EHS team, leading the meeting as required
Finance
  • Work with suppliers to achieve accurate and cost effective quotes
  • Raise orders on WeBuy system
  • Approve invoices as required on Invoice Track systems
Compliance
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation and company requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks within the industry
  • Provide advice and recommendations to employees on matters to ensure compliance with UK EHS legislation and Corporate Requirements
  • Act as a role model, consistently promoting EHS principles
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Health or Environmental, Health and Safety, or scientific field
  • National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management (NEBOSH)
  • Demonstrable record of accomplishment with skills and experience gained in a similar position(s), at a similar level
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of EHS management with a track record of delivering EHS improvement projects
  • Strong team player, able to build relationships between local, regional and global level
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Credible and confident communicator (written and verbal) at all levels, with first class presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, innovative, solutions focused approach, with a 'can do' attitude
  • Ability to motivate, influence, challenge and negotiate with others in a confident and professional way
  • First class organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, demonstrating good time management skills
