London Borough of Bromley is seeking a highly skilled EHCP Coordinator to join our team and play a pivotal role in the statutory assessment and review process. We are committed to putting children and families first, and we need a coordinator who shares this vision.

The Role

As an EHCP Coordinator, you will manage a caseload of children and young people aged 0-25, overseeing the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process from initial request through to final plan and subsequent annual reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Statutory Case Management: Coordinate and manage the statutory assessment process for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring adherence to the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and all relevant legislation.
  • Assessment and Planning: Organise and facilitate multi-agency meetings, synthesising information from health, social care, educational settings, and parents/carers to draft high-quality, person-centred EHCPs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all EHCPs are legally compliant, outcome-focused, and accurately reflect the needs and aspirations of the child or young person.
  • Liaison and Partnership: Act as the key point of contact for families, schools, settings, and other agencies. Build strong, positive working relationships to facilitate effective collaboration and challenge appropriately to secure the best provision.
  • Annual Reviews: Oversee the smooth and timely completion of the annual review process for children and young people with existing plans, ensuring provision remains appropriate and relevant to their needs.
  • Conflict Resolution: Effectively manage complex and sometimes challenging situations, including preparing for and attending appeals to the SEND Tribunal as required.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven experience working as an EHCP Coordinator or in a similar statutory SEN role, with a strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a demanding caseload and meet strict statutory timescales.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and professional documents and communicate sensitively with families.
  • A commitment to co-production and promoting the voice of children, young people, and their families.
  • The ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and negotiate complex provision packages.
