A leading defense contractor in Bristol is seeking a technical RMO to coordinate the delivery of the Command and Control Processing Unit for Laser Directed Energy Weapon systems. The candidate will manage technical specifications, collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams, and lead integration efforts. DragonFire has been and continues to be a boundary pushing weapon system development programme that has significant industry and customer engagement. Thus far the programme has been aimed at developing the UK's first Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) concept demonstrator, achieving significant success recently with several highly publicised trials activities.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
The role of an RMO is to be the technical interface with the Design Authority (external or internal) of weapons system equipment in order to ensure the consistency of the weapon system equipment with system performance and project commitments.
The RMO will need to coordinate the work packages for both internal and external suppliers to develop products. Ensuring that cost, deadlines and technical choices, are in accordance with the specifications.
This is a varied role ranging from developing requirements with stakeholders, spending time in a design lab and supporting the acceptance of our Weapon System products.
The Effector Controller sub-system RMO will be responsible for delivery of the Command and Control Processing Unit (C2PU), along with the associated console and the Racks that these pieces of equipment will be installed in.
This role will be focused on the hardware delivery and physical certification aspects of these systems. Although an understanding of how these sub-systems work will also be required to support product delivery, which includes the software product.
