Educators within NUH Education will deliver high-quality, standardised education and training programmes for the multi-professional workforce across Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will facilitate safe, inclusive and effective learning environments; provide constructive feedback to learners; support reflective practice and debrief; and adapt delivery to meet differing learner needs. The role will contribute to the evaluation, audit and quality assurance of education activity, ensuring that education delivery is evidence-informed, appropriately recorded and aligned to Trust priorities and standards.
Postholders will maintain professional registration, clinical competence and educator capability relevant to the area of practice. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust education services, care groups, professional groups and wider stakeholders to support consistent, high-quality education delivery.
This role is focused on the delivery, facilitation and evaluation of education. The post holder works within approved curricula, agreed education programmes and defined quality frameworks, and is not expected to hold primary responsibility for curriculum design, strategic service development or education service planning.

Job responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, standardised education and training programmes to the multi-professional workforce in line with agreed Trust education frameworks, curricula, learning outcomes and quality standards.
- Facilitate practical, simulation-based, technology-enabled, classroom-based, in-situ and/or practice-based learning activities relevant to the specialty area.
- Prepare, set up and facilitate education sessions, ensuring that learning resources, equipment, environments and materials are ready, safe and appropriate for the intended learning activity.
- Deliver education using a range of teaching and facilitation methods, adapting approach and pace to meet differing learner needs, accessibility requirements and levels of prior experience.
- Support learners to develop clinical competence, confidence and safe practice through structured teaching, supervised practice, feedback and reflection.
- Facilitate reflective practice, debrief and learner discussion where appropriate, supporting learners to connect education activity with safe, effective and evidence-informed practice.
- Work within defined education programmes and approved learning resources, escalating any identified gaps, risks, capacity issues or concerns through agreed governance routes.
