Job summary

A leading educational institution in Gosport is seeking a Head of Modern Foreign Languages to cover a one-year maternity post from January 2026. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching languages, particularly French. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire in a supportive environment focused on continual improvement and excellence in teaching.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching French to GCSE, A-Level teaching is desirable.
  • Ability to teach Spanish and/or German is desirable but not essential.

Are you an ambitious MFL Teacher ready to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for languages and the confidence to lead and inspire a team? Quokka Education is delighted to be supporting a rapidly improving secondary school in the Gosport area, rated 'Good' in all areas, in their search for a Head of Modern Foreign Languages to cover a one-year maternity post from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced language teacher or an aspiring middle leader who's ready to take on a new challenge in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and delivering engaging MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4 (with the ability to teach A-Level desirable but not essential)
