Overview

Location: Northampton Northamptonshire

Contract: Temporary - Part-time or Full-time

Salary: Dependant on experience

Simply Education is working with a highly specialised and nurturing school who supports children from age 7 to 16 years old. Their students have a diverse range of learning needs, specialising in autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs, and associated behavioural challenges.

The Role

The school are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is suitable for both part-time and full-time applicants, but you must be available to work between 8:30am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This is an excellent opportunity for those with mainstream school experience who are looking to transition into a SEND setting. Some pupils present with complex behaviours associated with their additional needs, so patience, resilience, and a positive approach are essential.

Key Duties
  • Support pupils in class, one-to-one, and in small groups as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Assist with tailored learning programmes and daily routines.
  • Support behaviour management while promoting independence and confidence.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
About You

Experience working with children or young people is essential, whether that be within a school setting or through a transferable role (for example, through sports coaching).

  • Patient, resilient, and compassionate with a proactive approach expected from a Teaching Assistant that may be working 1:1 or with a group of children with additional needs.
