Job summary

Cheshire East Council invites applications for an Education Navigator to join the Integrated Front Door team. The role links education settings with children’s social care, health partners and other services to review information, identify needs, and support safeguarding and early intervention decisions.

You will work with schools and providers to map a child’s circumstances and coordinate pathways for support, ensuring child-centred planning and positive outcomes for education and life.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and confidence in working with a wide range of professionals.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities to assess information and support decision making.
• Experience of safeguarding and child protection practice within education or children's services.
• Committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families through collaborative work.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main link between education settings and Integrated Front Door Service.
• Support safeguarding decisions through information sharing and professional advice.
• Contribute to child protection meetings, safety planning and risk assessment processes.
• Provide specialist guidance to schools and education settings on safeguarding and child protection matters.
• Help ensure vulnerable children receive appropriate support and protection, including those missing education or with SEND.
• Build strong partnerships across education, social care, health and police services to improve outcomes.
