Overview

Do you want to play a vital part in shaping young minds and empowering them to become environmental changemakers? As NLWA's Education Programme Officer, you will deliver our exciting, curriculum-linked education programme at our state-of-the-art facility, EcoPark House.

In this dynamic role, you will help both primary and secondary school students explore key themes such as sustainability, resource management, and the circular economy. You will also support the delivery of a range of events held at EcoPark House, such as our Student Sustainability Conference.

As the main point of contact for booking school visits at EcoPark House, you’ll also support the smooth running of school visits and events, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will also help ensure EcoPark House remains a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring space for all visitors.

From time to time, you may be asked to support other activities including attending schools to deliver our In the Know programme. This role has a lot of variety, and as such, we’re looking for someone who is ready to excel in a vibrant team.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver our education programme at EcoPark House, linked to the curriculum, for primary and secondary students.
  • Support the delivery of events at EcoPark House, such as the Student Sustainability Conference.
  • Act as the main point of contact for booking school visits, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring space for all visitors at EcoPark House.
  • Support additional activities as needed, including delivering sessions in schools as part of the In the Know programme.
  • Collaborate effectively within a vibrant team and contribute to NLWA’s circular economy objectives.
About You / Qualifications
  • You’re an experienced educator who can adapt delivery of sessions to suit different audiences, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • You know how schools work and are confident engaging with students and teachers.
  • You have a secure understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment in school settings, and you’re happy to travel across north London, occasionally starting early or finishing late to make things happen.
  • Whether you have direct experience in the sustainability sector or not, you have a genuine interest in sustainability and the circular economy, with the ability to communicate complex systems and concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • You are highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You also have administrative experience to support the efficient coordination and delivery of educational programmes.
  • You take an analytical approach, regularly evaluating feedback to improve session quality and outcomes, with experience producing reports for key stakeholders.
  • As a proactive team member, you’re willing to support additional events and activities at EcoPark House, contributing to NLWA’s objective of bringing about a circular economy to protect the environment for future generations.

If all that sounds good, we’d love to hear from you!
