Job Summary

We are seeking to recruit 2x education wellbeing practitioners to join the Tower Hamlets Education Wellbeing Service (THEWS).

THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established following the government Green Paper: Transforming Children & Young People's Mental Health Provision. The service has undergone recent expansion.

Core Functions of the MHST
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people (CYP) with mild-to-moderate mental health problems.
  • Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, develop and deliver the whole school/college approach.
  • Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help CYP to get the right support and stay in education.
Main Duties of the Job
  • Deliver and assess outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people with mild-to-moderate mental health problems, and their families, parents, and carers.
  • Support the senior mental health lead to introduce or develop their whole school/college approach.
  • Liaise with supervisors to agree appropriate signposting and referrals for children and young people.
  • Work in a hybrid clinical model of direct face-to-face and remote working as appropriate.
  • Participate in continual improvement and teamwork with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service.
