Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking an Education Mental Health Practitioner to deliver evidence-based early intervention for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in educational settings across East Sussex.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing one-to-one and group sessions, supporting schools with whole-school approaches to emotional wellbeing, and engaging with parents while receiving ongoing professional development and clinical

Are you passionate about improving children and young people's mental health and wellbeing? If so, join our Mental Health Support Team and help make a lasting difference in education settings across East Sussex.

As a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP), you will deliver evidence-based early intervention support for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Working across schools, you will provide one-to-one and group interventions, support parents and carers, and help schools develop whole-school approaches to mental health and emotional wellbeing.

You will work as part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team including EMHPs, Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, Advisory Teachers, SEND specialists, Parent and Carer Practitioners and Senior Mental Health Practitioners. You will also play a key role in promoting positive mental health through consultation, training and psychoeducation within educational settings.
