Shaping Portsmouth is looking for a motivated and inspiring Education Lead to oversee our education programmes and strengthen our connections with schools and colleges across the city. Responsibilities

As the Education Lead, you ll take ownership of our flagship education programmes, ensuring they deliver impact and inspiration across the city. You ll work closely with schools, colleges, employers and volunteers to design and deliver engaging workshops and events that prepare young people for the world of work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Portsmouth City Council, and schools and colleges, acting as the main point of contact for leadership and careers teams.
  • Planning and delivering engaging workshops such as Explore Your Future, Shaped by Solent and the Apprenticeship Bus, helping young people discover career pathways and connect with local employers.
  • Developing annual project plans and managing delivery timelines to ensure every programme meets its goals.
  • Collaborating with volunteers, programme leads and partners to deliver sessions that are inspiring, inclusive and well-organised.
  • Leading on safeguarding and child protection across the organisation, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every young person we work with.
  • Representing Shaping Portsmouth at partner events and acting as an ambassador for our mission and values.
What We7re Looking For

We re seeking someone who is confident, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed. You ll have experience working in the education, youth or employability sector and be comfortable engaging with everyone from school leaders to students in a classroom setting, acting professionally in person or in your representation of Shaping Portsmouth online.

You should bring:

  • Experience delivering or managing education or youth programmes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with confidence speaking to groups.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships with partners in person.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for education, opportunity and community.
