Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking an experienced Education Lawyer to join a London Local Authority on a locum basis. The role is a 3 month+ contract with a London-based caseload, offering £45-£55 per hour depending on experience.

Attendance in the office is usually fortnightly, with flexible negotiation, and tribunal work on SEND matters will arise as needed. The successful candidate will manage SEN casework, provide education-law advice, and operate within SEND tribunals.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified and holds a current practising certificate (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx).
• Experience managing SEN cases and advising on education law.
• Experience working on SEND tribunals.
• Available to start immediately or within weeks.

Responsibilities

• Advise on education law matters for the local authority.
• Manage a SEN case load and provide guidance to clients.
• Represent or assist at SEND tribunals as required.
• Adapt to office attendance requirements (fortnightly) and case negotiations.

Locum Education Lawyer

3 month+ locum contract

£45 - £55 per hour (depending on experience)

A well-known London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Education Lawyer to join them on a locum basis.

The Education Lawyer will join the London Council on an initial 3-month locum contract, with the likelihood of being extended long-term on a rolling basis. Office attendance is usually required once per fortnight, however this can be negotiated. Tribunal attendance is however required as and when it comes up.

The successful candidate will have experience managing a caseload of SEN cases, advising on education law and working on SEND tribunals. Experience in associated guidance is preferrable. They must also be fully qualified and hold a current practicing certificate (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx).

This will be a great opportunity for a determined Education Lawyer to capitalise on their expertise, work independently, and take on a varied and interesting caseload.
