Job description
Launch Your Career in Blackpool Secondary Education!

Are you a confident and proactive individual—perhaps a recent graduate, skilled professional, or unqualified teacher—looking for a high-impact role in a local Blackpool secondary school?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Education Instructor to join our dedicated team and play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality education across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Ages 11-16). This role is ideal for building essential classroom experience and can be a stepping stone towards full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

If you have exceptional communication skills, strong behaviour management, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in a mainstream setting, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities & Opportunity
  • Classroom Management: Deliver pre‑planned lessons (e.g., as a Cover Supervisor) across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Student Support: Proactively support the learning of students aged 11‑16 to ensure engagement and continued progress through individual and small‑group interventions.
  • Positive Learning Environment: Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom atmosphere, effectively implementing the school's behaviour policy.
  • Path to QTS: Gain invaluable, paid, full‑time classroom experience, which is an ideal preparation for further teacher training (e.g., PGCE or School Direct).
  • Blackpool Community: Work in a supportive local secondary school, contributing directly to the educational outcomes of young people in the Blackpool area.
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people, ideally within the 11‑16 age range (youth work, tutoring, sports coaching, or similar).
  • Qualifications: QTS is NOT required. A degree (in any subject) or relevant Level 3 qualification is highly desirable, but confidence and capability are key.
  • Skills: Exceptional verbal communication, strong organisational skills, and a confident, proactive presence in the classroom.
  • Commitment: A professional, positive attitude and a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
