Education Health Care Support Assistant – PMLD

Pay: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Location: Plymouth
Start Date: ASAP - ongoing, with potential to extend into the new year and become a contracted school role

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Education Health Care Support Assistant to join a welcoming special school in Whitleigh supporting children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people who require a high level of care and individualised support.

About the Role
  • Support students with complex learning, physical, and medical needs in a nurturing school environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help each child access learning and personal development opportunities.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication as required.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to provide consistent, holistic support for each student.
About You
  • Kind, patient, and committed to helping children reach their full potential.
  • Confident supporting children with profound learning difficulties and complex needs.
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care and using specialist equipment (training provided).
  • Experience in an SEN or care-based setting is desirable, but a caring attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
