Job summary

Bradford Council is advertising an Education Engagement Worker to support learning and re-engagement for children and young people with health needs. The role is 30 hours per week (TTO) with 2 additional days, based at Owlet Road, Shipley, with travel to homes and schools across the Bradford district.

The successful candidate will engage learners, provide appropriate support, and participate in training as required.

Qualifications

• Must have driving licence and access to a car.
• English language fluency assessed for customer-facing posts.
• Enhanced DBS check will be undertaken.

Job Introduction

Hours: 30 hrs per week (TTO) + 2 days

The Medical Needs and Hospital Education Service provides education and welfare for all children of compulsory school age residing in the Bradford Local Authority area who cannot attend full time school due to health and medical needs. Our provision is based at Owlet Road in Shipley, Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary.

We have a vacancy for an Education Engagement Worker and are looking for someone to fulfil this role and become a valued member of our team. The right candidate will be able to effectively support learning and engage children and young people, encouraging them back into education after physical or mental health issues. Effective training will be provided where necessary. The position is based at Owlet Road in Shipley but there is a requirement to travel to homes and schools in the Bradford district.

English Language Requirement

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

Car Use

Car use is essential to this car and the successful candidate must have a driving licence and car.
