Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking an Assistant Education Access Officer to help vulnerable children access education and ensure appropriate provision when attendance is affected by exclusion, illness or SEMH needs. You will work with schools, families and health partners to support reintegration into mainstream settings where possible.

You will also support the Senior Education Access Officer to meet statutory duties, negotiate solutions, and contribute to outcomes that improve young people’s education

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in an education-related field or substantial relevant experience.
• Possession of a full driving licence and DBS clearance is essential.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with schools and families.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Education Access Officer to ensure educational provision for students affected by exclusion, illness or SEMH needs.
• Collaborate with schools, families and health professionals to reintegrate students into mainstream settings.
• Assist in advising schools on exclusion legislation and participate in multi-agency meetings to secure outcomes.
• Assist with transitions from Alternative Provision to mainstream settings where possible.
