Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking an Education Access Coordinator to support schools, families and partners in ensuring access to education for pupils at risk of losing their place. This fixed-term, countywide role requires travel across Essex and involves collaboration, safeguarding, and case management to secure suitable provision.

The post is baselined in Basildon with occasional office attendance and nationwide mobility. The role requires a driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in education settings and for supporting young people to overcome anti-social behaviours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to engage families.
• Ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision and make decisions.
• Proactive, flexible, and able to work with partners to secure positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Case management under Education Other Than At School to commission appropriate provision.
• Collaborate with schools to support pupils on reduced timetables or facing bullying.
• Meet families and young people to identify best educational options and mitigate risks of exclusion.
• Provide guidance on policy and review mechanisms to Headteachers, Governors and parents.

RQF Level 3 / A Level or equivalent
