12 month senior fellowship for anaesthetists with at least three years anaesthetic training. 40% simulation and education, 60% anaesthesia.
Fully funded PG Cert in Medical Education at QMUL over the 12 month post.
Education and Simulation
The simulation component is based in the Simulation Centre at the Royal London site. The fellow joins the faculty and is involved in the delivery and development of simulation training and courses.

Main Duties
- Develop educational methods including PBL, simulation, and clinical skills.
- Teach simulation and clinical skills programmes, especially multidisciplinary in situ training.
- Develop, implement and deliver innovative simulation training and courses.
- Create teaching materials and obtain funding for training and equipment.
- Gain an educational qualification at certificate level or above.
- Collaborate with the medical school, foundation school, core training programmes, and specialty schools to optimise cooperation.
- Participate in educational research, management and governance.
- Attend Education Committee meetings.
Responsibilities
- Assist with audit of feedback from courses.
- Devise and implement research activity under supervision.
- Attend and present research and audit at local, national, and international meetings.
- Develop research and writing skills to produce peer‑reviewed publications.
- Undertake presentations at national and international meetings.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- MBBS
- Primary FRCA
- GMC registration and licensing
- Basic Level training certificate in Anaesthesia
Desirable Qualifications
- FRCA or equivalent
- Higher education qualification
Essential Experience
- Anaesthetist in CT3/ST3+ or equivalent
- Previous experience of teaching UK medical students
- Minimum of three years in recognised specialist anaesthetic training posts or equivalent
- Evidence of ST3 competences in anaesthetics at time of application
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience delivering education, ideally inter‑professional setting
- NHS clinical experience
- Demonstrated experience with simulation‑based education events
- Demonstrated experience in research‑based activities and data collection
