Job summary

Wildstar Films Ltd is seeking an experienced Finishing Edit Assistant to support a production team for a 6-week period. The role focuses on managing edit projects, assisting senior producers, and ensuring broadcast-ready post workflows in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve skills, plus experience with Nexis/shared storage and media management. Interviews will be held in Bristol during the week of 5 October.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling graded and mixed programme material.
  • Strong knowledge of Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experience within complex broadcast post-production workflows.
  • Excellent MacOS knowledge and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to relink, conform, export, consolidate and deliver materials.

Job description

Wildstar Films are looking to recruit an experienced Finishing Edit Assistant to support a production team for 6 weeks to deliver an exciting blue-chip natural history series.

Duties
  • Organising and managing complex edit projects and media workflows.
  • Supporting Senior Producers and Production Management through final post.
  • Handling and troubleshooting graded and mixed programme assets within Avid workflows.
  • Preparing reversion Avid projects and media for turnovers, versioning and broadcaster deliveries.
  • Liaising with Post Supervisors, Production teams and external facilities.
  • Maintaining project organisation across shared storage systems.
  • Providing technical troubleshooting and workflow support across the edit team.
Ideal candidate requirements
  • Experience handling already graded and mixed programme material.
  • Excellent knowledge of Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Strong understanding of relinks, conforms, exports, consolidates and delivery materials.
  • Significant experience working within complex broadcast post-production workflows.
  • Strong understanding of conforms, relinking, online workflows and delivery specifications.
  • Experience working with Avid Nexis and shared storage environments.
  • Strong knowledge of codecs, file formats and media management.
  • Excellent MacOS knowledge and strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and additional post-production software is an advantage.

This will be a full-time role, starting from 12th October.

Interviews will be held in person in Bristol the week commencing 5th October.
