Job summary

Access Computer Consulting plc is recruiting an Edge Architect to be based 1-2 days in Liverpool with the remaining time remote. The role falls inside IR35 and requires working through an umbrella company.

You will provide architecture leadership for the Client's enterprise factory-edge platform, defining reusable hosting patterns that support VM workloads, containers, UNS/MES, Legacy applications, data and AI workloads across a distributed manufacturing estate.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Edge Hosting and enterprise factory-edge platforms.
• Ability to provide architecture leadership and design authority.
• Experience producing HLDs, architecture decision records, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Define reusable hosting patterns for VM workloads, containers, UNS/MES, legacy applications, data and AI workloads.
• Lead architecture for a geographically distributed manufacturing estate.
• Define highly available and recoverable infrastructure services for business-critical workloads.
• Drive observability, automation/IaC, lifecycle management and cloud integration.

I am recruiting for an Edge Architect to be based 1-2 days in Liverpool, remaining time remote.

The role falls inside IR35 so you will be required to work through an umbrella company for the duration of the contract.

You must have strong experience of Edge Hosting.

You will provide architecture leadership and design authority for the Client's enterprise factory-edge platform, defining reusable hosting patterns that support traditional VM workloads, containers, UNS/MES, Legacy applications, data and AI workloads across a geographically distributed manufacturing estate.

You will have deep enterprise solution architecture experience across hybrid infrastructure and distributed platforms.

Strong knowledge of virtualisation/HCI, Windows and Linux, Kubernetes/container platforms, storage and resilient infrastructure design.

Experience defining highly available and recoverable infrastructure services for business-critical workloads.

Strong understanding of observability, automation/IaC, life cycle management and cloud integration.

Experience producing enterprise reference architectures, HLDs, architecture decision records and technical standards.
