Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Safeguarding Practitioner for children and adults. The role is based in the emergency department, supporting victims of serious violence and functioning as a key member of the multi-agency safeguarding team to ensure health needs are included in assessments.

The post holder will work with the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and other agencies to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified nurse (RGN/RMN/RM) with proactive personal and professional development.
• Degree-level education is required and ongoing professional development is expected.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for safeguarding work.

Responsibilities

• Develop inter-disciplinary and inter-agency communication to improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals.
• Support victims of serious violence in the ED and collaborate with safeguarding teams and partner agencies.
