Job description

Airbus are looking for someone who will be part of the overall Quality team supporting Digital Payload Group activities across Portsmouth, Stevenage and Ottoburn. This role includes supporting Key Inspection Points (KIPs) for the physical inspections and ensuring analysing non-quality events - to create a safer working environment. Part of a dynamic team working on the production of cutting edge space equipment, encouraging a quality mindset of the right first time, overcoming challenges and being part of making a difference. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
  • Promote a "quality first" mindset to prevent non-quality in the cleanroom.
  • Monitor and improve workmanship standards and cleanroom practices.
  • Conduct design and integrity verification inspections on Flight Hardware and Test set-ups, adhering to Airbus D&S and ECSS-Q-ST-70-08, 28 & 38 standards.
  • Identify and record non-conformities, collaborating with manufacturing engineering, PA, M&P / Process Owner for investigation.
  • Perform internal audits on cleanroom activities and inspections.
  • Complete QVP verifications as directed by Equipment Quality Assurance.
  • Monitor and promote Health & Safety and 5S culture in the cleanroom, supporting Root Cause Analysis of non-quality events.
  • Review and verify certification of Production and Test staff via the skills matrix and certification procedures. ECSS certification from an ESA approved training school, Cat 3 (Operator), Cat 2 (Inspector - preferred) in high-reliability electronics including surface mount assembly.
  • 3+ years in space, aerospace or military electronics manufacturing environment
