Barclays Bank UK PLC in London or Northampton is seeking an Economic Crime Risk Manager to support the Risk Function by identifying, assessing, mitigating and monitoring economic crime risks across business units and activities.
You will help develop desktop procedures, maintain regulatory compliance, and lead a team to strengthen controls. Strong AML knowledge, first-line risk experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders are essential.
Purpose of the role To support the Risk Function in delivering it’s objective of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities. Accountabilities Development of strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes. Management of the risk department, including oversight of risk colleagues and their performance, implementation of risk priorities and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness. Relationship management of risk stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third-party services. Adherence to the Risk policy, standards and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.
To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions. Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Working within an established risk framework, you will help ensure procedural documentation remains accurate, up to date and aligned with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practice. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help promote consistency in processes, strengthen the control environment, and support the effective management of economic crime risk. Opportunities to contribute to regulatory change initiatives and horizon scanning activities will also arise as part of the role.
