Job description

Overview

Exciting opportunity to work in a museum in central London with travel to South Kensington. Start on 13 October 2025. This extended position lasts until 26 April 2026 due to the Pokémon season running from 26 January 2026 to 26 April 2026.

Role

Warehouse Operative – Ecommerce Picker/Packer. The role requires a fully capable warehouse professional with extensive experience in multi-SKU multi-line picking and strong attention to detail. Secondary experience in Goods In is desirable but not the main focus. The successful candidate will perform multi-line order picking, unpacking orders, unloading from pallets, pricing, and must work to put-away KPI targets. Computer use will be required, and familiarity with warehousing EPOS management systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Multi-SKU order picking for web store, and packing stock to meet daily collection by DHL & Royal Mail with attention to detail to reduce discrepancies.
• Unpacking orders, unloading and processing from pallets, pricing.
• Ensure put-away KPIs are met; work at pace while on feet all day.
• Use warehousing EPOS systems; communicate internally with museum colleagues across departments.
• Report inventory and location variances to the warehouse manager or assistant managers.
• Comply with the Museum's Health and Safety and Fire Safety policies and HASAW Act; report concerns promptly.

Experience & Skills (Qualifications)

• Minimum of two GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Mathematics.
• Familiarity with Cybertill, Magento, Shiptheory or similar stock management systems preferred.
• Experience in a busy commercial warehouse web order picking environment.
• Good communication skills (telephone and email).
• Passionate about customer service.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Practical understanding of health and safety in a fast-moving warehouse environment is desirable.
• Able to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.

Hours, Pay & Benefits

• Hours: 07:45–16:00, 5 days out of 7 including weekends. First day is 09:00.
• 2 full weekends in 4 with two days’ rest before the weekend and one rota’d day off after the weekend (to be confirmed).
• Breaks: 15 minutes morning break; 1 hour lunch break (unpaid).
• Pay: £13.58 per hour.

Physical Demands

The role requires standing, walking, and sitting. Repetitive handling and movement is expected. Occasional lifting up to 20 kg may be required. Vision requirements include close, distance, colour, and depth perception. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
