Job description

We have a new opportunity for an experienced 'eCommerce Merchandiser' to join our award-winning online marketing team for Marshalls Gardens in Alconbury Hill.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will play a crucial role for the sales and margin performance of the Marshalls Garden websites through strong campaigns, eCommerce merchandising principles and excellent customer experiences. This is a key post for commercial understanding, customer focussing and identify growth ideas.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage the creation and implementation of campaigns online in order to achieve the sales and margin targets. Including campaign messaging and positioning online, creation and updating of landing pages and creation of product listings, all in order to maximise campaign effectiveness and customer experience
  • Manage the search algorithm and results to provide customers with the most appropriate product selections, in order to increase conversion to sale
  • Ensure all new product launches are appropriately communicated online, to the agreed level.
  • Brief additional content to support the customer experience online and to increase conversion to sale
  • Understand the possible functionalities and features on the Shopify platform, to give customers the best possible experience online and deliver our brand proposition. Oversee the development roadmap, briefing partner suppliers where appropriate
  • Manage the Product Information Coordinator, ensuring they own all aspects of product set up online
  • Understand, report and share customer insight and website behaviour insight, in order to improve our business, including search trends, customer engagement online and trading opportunities
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' successful experience in eCommerce trading roles
  • Experience in developing and implementing campaigns and promotions online
  • Experience using web analytics tools inc Google Analytics, heatmaps, survey tools.
  • Experience of working within CMS and website platforms, Shopify preferable
  • Experience within category management or buying preferable
  • A background within a retail ecommerce environment, preferable seasonal
  • A passion for gardening and growing would be useful
