You’ll manage campaigns, grow organic/AI search visibility and oversee Google and Meta Ads for profitable growth, while shaping the website roadmap and writing specs for developers.

The role is full-time based at our Bristol office, reporting to the MD, with hybrid work and a hands-on, data-driven approach in a small team.

  • 2–3 years in ecommerce or DTC marketing.
  • Strong SEO knowledge and curiosity about how AI search is changing discovery.

  • Experience owning website improvements: you can turn a problem into a clear, detailed spec a developer can build from.
  • Working grasp of CRO, page speed and analytics (GA4, Google Search Console).
  • Able to manage and prioritise workload without close supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Supremely organised and able to juggle long‑term roadmap with weekly campaigns and seasonal work.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a pro‑active approach to fixes.
  • Creative problem solver, resourceful and pragmatic when challenged.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and making data‑driven decisions.
  • Meets the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Meta Ads experience, building a channel from a low base.
  • Experience managing agencies or affiliate programmes.
  • Email marketing (Klaviyo) and WhatsApp marketing.
  • Basic product photography skills.
  • An interest in the outdoors and the brands we sell.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing campaigns: Own the marketing calendar and keep the website current, from homepage and campaign updates to seasonal changes.
  • Organic search: Internal linking in copy, writing collection copy, and connecting Journal articles to brand pages; prepare SEO briefs for the commissioning editor.
  • AI and agentic search: Enrich product data for AI assistants and shopping agents and keep pace with evolving channels.
  • Website development: Manage backlog, scope and write development specs for the developer, prioritise backlog and test what ships.
  • Hands‑on site improvements: Tweak CSS, build Shopify blocks, integrate apps, and add click tracking in Google Tag Manager; some technical learning required.
  • Google Ads: Run day‑to‑day testing, monitoring and optimisation across accounts; lead regular calls with our Google rep.
  • Meta Ads: Set up and run paid social campaigns, build testing programmes and grow spend as results justify.
  • Events: Plan and deliver 2–3 trade/consumer events per year.
  • Affiliates: Support the agency managing affiliate programmes.
  • PR: Support external PR agency on seasonal campaigns.
  • Product photography: Shoot product images in the in‑house studio.
  • WhatsApp: Create and send WhatsApp campaigns at least every other week.

Job description

WildBounds is a Bristol-based DTC retailer specialising in outdoor and lifestyle gear and apparel – a carefully curated edit of the best products for people who live adventurously. We're known for a tightly curated range and for taking product seriously.

Housed & Harnessed is our sister business – a UK distribution company representing a portfolio of outdoor and lifestyle brands including Matador, Sunski, Crazy Creek and others.

This role sits across both businesses.

The Role

You will own how customers find and buy from us, from the campaigns on our site to the channels that bring people to it. That means running the marketing calendar, growing our organic and AI search visibility, and managing Google and Meta Ads to drive profitable growth.

You will also shape the website roadmap, writing clear specs for our developer to improve conversion rate and page speed. It is a hands-on, varied role for someone who enjoys both the numbers and the detail, and who can work autonomously in a small team.

This is a full-time position , based at our Bristol office and reports to the Managing Director. Premises address is 13 Liberty Industrial Park, South Liberty Lane, Bristol, BS3 2SU.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing campaigns: Own the marketing calendar and keep our website current, from homepage and campaign updates to seasonal changes.
  • Organic search: Internal linking in copy, writing collection copy, and connecting Journal articles to brand pages. Prepare SEO briefs for our commissioning editor.
  • AI and agentic search: Enrich our product data so we are found and recommended by AI assistants and shopping agents and keep pace with how these channels evolve.
  • Website development: Manage a pipeline of improvements to conversion rate, page speed and the wider site. This is the largest single part of the role and central to the growth of the business. Scope and write development specs for our developer, prioritise the backlog, and test what ships.
  • Hands-on site improvements: Make changes to the site yourself using AI tools such as Claude, from tweaking CSS and building new Shopify blocks to integrating apps and adding click tracking in Google Tag Manager. You don’t need to be a developer, but you will need some basic technical understanding and a willingness to learn.
  • Google Ads: Run day-to-day testing, monitoring and optimisation across our accounts, and lead regular calls with our Google rep.
  • Meta Ads: Set up and run paid social campaigns, building a testing programme and growing spend as results justify.
  • Events: Plan and deliver trade and consumer events (roughly 2-3 events each year).
  • Affiliates: Support the agency that manages our affiliate programme.
  • PR: Support and manage our external PR agency on seasonal campaigns.
  • Product photography: Shoot product images in our in-house studio.
  • WhatsApp: Create and send WhatsApp campaigns at least every other week.
  • Partnerships and projects: Brand partnerships and other projects as they come up.
Requirements
  • 2–3 years' experience in ecommerce or DTC marketing, ideally on Shopify
  • Solid SEO knowledge, and curiosity about how AI search is changing discovery
  • Hands-on Google Ads experience, including Shopping or Performance Max, with a record of improving ROAS
  • Experience owning website improvements: you can turn a problem into a clear, detailed spec a developer can build from
  • A working grasp of CRO, page speed and analytics (GA4, Google Search Console)
  • Able to manage and prioritise their workload without close supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Supremely organised - enough to juggle a long-term roadmap alongside weekly campaigns and seasonal work
  • Meticulous attention to detail. You notice when something is wrong or could be better, and you care enough to fix it
  • A creative problem solver – resourceful and pragmatic when faced with challenges
  • Comfortable working autonomously and making decisions from data
  • Meets the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
  • Meta Ads experience, specially building a channel from a low base
  • Experience managing agencies or affiliate programmes
  • Email (Klaviyo) and WhatsApp marketing
  • Basic product photography skills
  • An interest in the outdoors and the brands we sell
What we’re offering
  • Competitive salary of £36,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working arrangement – 3 days/week in our Bristol office (from 2nd month of employment)
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Annual performance and pay review
  • 25 days paid holiday (plus the 8 UK bank holidays)
  • The chance to work with some of the most exciting names in outdoor and lifestyle gear
  • A collaborative, close-knit team based in Bristol
  • Real opportunity to grow and develop with the business as we scale
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Statutory Maternity, Paternity and Sick Pay
