MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a leading hardware business in the search for an Ecommerce Manager . This is a permanent hybrid / remote position based in the midlands.

We are looking for an Ecommerce Manager to take responsibility for the trading performance of our partners product across our websites and marketplaces. Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and execute the online trading calendar aligned to seasonal moments, product launches, and promotional events.
  • Monitor, forecast, and react to trading performance, implementing rapid commercial actions where required.
  • Optimise onsite merchandising including category hierarchy, navigation, product sequencing, filters, and facets to improve discoverability and conversion.
  • Lead onsite search optimisation, managing synonyms, ranking rules, and zero-result queries.
  • Plan and execute promotions and markdowns in partnership with Buying and Merchandising teams, ensuring price integrity and margin protection.
  • Coordinate and QA onsite promotional messaging, banners, and content assets pre- and post-launch.
  • Trade bestsellers, newness, and long‑tail SKUs, ensuring strong availability in winning lines and clear exit strategies for slow movers.
  • Manage stock availability rules, out‑of‑stock visibility, and back‑in‑stock workflows to reduce customer drop‑off.
  • Brief, review, and QA homepage, category, and PDP content, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and SEO best practices.
  • Own core trading KPIs including traffic, conversion rate, AOV, RPV, add‑to‑bag rate, checkout funnel performance, returns rate, and onsite search metrics.
  • Deliver clear weekly and monthly trading reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Digital Marketing, Buying, Creative, Operations, and Customer Care teams to optimise performance and customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 1 year experience in e-commerce trading, online merchandising, or digital commercial roles.
  • Proven ability to drive sales and margin growth through onsite trading and conversion rate optimisation.
  • Hands‑on experience with e‑commerce platforms such as Shopify / Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, or similar.
  • Experience trading on online marketplaces such as Amazon, B&Q, Tesco, Shein, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of onsite merchandising tools, onsite search, and analytics platforms including GA4.
  • Experience using A / B testing tools and applying a test‑and‑learn mindset.
  • Solid understanding of basic SEO for e‑commerce and paid traffic performance drivers.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear commercial actions.
  • High attention to detail with strong execution and QA standards.
  • Commercially driven, organised, proactive, and comfortable working to fast‑paced weekly trading rhythms.
