A conservation organization in Exmoor National Park is seeking an Ecology Support Officer to provide technical support for their landscape recovery project. This role involves managing ecological data and GIS information to support vital environmental initiatives. Applicants should have a degree in an environmental or GIS discipline, alongside experience in GIS tools. This is a fixed-term position until March 2026 offering a salary of £28,598 – £32,061, with options for flexible working.

Exmoor National Park is a unique and beautiful part of the country. Our vision is to ensure Exmoor remains a thriving, living landscape – a place where people can enjoy its special qualities and where sustainable communities flourish.
Funded by Defra, the Reviving Exmoor's Heartlands project aims to restore wildlife, river catchments and natural processes across 12,000 hectares of central Exmoor. The project vision is to restore core habitats and create new habitats, encompassing blanket bog, heathland, woodland, scrub and species‑rich grassland, and reintroduce lost species such as the Water Vole, Marsh Fritillary and Black Grouse.
We are now looking for an Ecology Support Officer to join the Reviving Exmoor's Heartlands project on a fixed‑term contract until the 31st March 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ecological data expert with an excellent grounding in data management and GIS to play a key role in a major landscape restoration initiative within one of the UK’s most treasured National Parks.

As an Ecology Support Officer, you will provide technical and administrative ecological support to the Reviving Exmoor's Heartlands Landscape Recovery project. Focusing on completing a monitoring and evaluation database by March 2026 and ensuring all GIS data is available, you will make sure that ecological baseline information is presented properly while supporting other aspects of the project.
