Job summary

Advance Green Futures is seeking an Ecologist to lead our ecology programme, support habitat banks, and advise colleagues on biodiversity and sustainability initiatives. You will help implement habitat creation and monitoring, draw on botanical expertise, and work with external stakeholders to advance nature recovery.

The role requires knowledge of UK biodiversity net gain, ecological legislation, and experience with habitat management, monitoring plans, and consents.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or IEEM membership.
• Experience in habitat creation and management.
• Knowledge of BNG metrics, habitat management, monitoring plans, surveys and assessments.
• Demonstrable botanical experience.
• Proficiency with GIS and digital surveying tools.
• Experience with Ecological Impact Assessments.
• Experience collaborating with community groups and elected members.
• Familiarity with consenting regimes (Natural England, Environment Agency, etc).
• Understanding of ecological legislation and policy in the UK.
• Knowledge of UK habitat and species legislation and biodiversity net gain.

Responsibilities

• Lead ecology programme management and habitat banks.
• Provide guidance to colleagues across the business on ecological matters.
• Support biodiversity projects and develop new opportunities in sustainability.
