Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an Ecologist in Inverness to join a friendly team delivering field surveys, ecological assessments, reporting and construction-stage support. The role offers a permanent, full-time opportunity with a salary of 29,000–36,000 and the chance to work across the Highlands, including travel and occasional overnight stays.

Key requirements include a relevant degree in Ecology or Environmental Science, consultancy or fieldwork experience, strong survey and report-writing

This is an excellent opportunity for an Ecologist looking to gain varied consultancy experience within a friendly and supportive team. The Ecologist will be involved in field surveys, ecological assessments, reporting and construction-stage ecological support.

The Ecologist role will involve:

• Undertaking protected species, habitat and ornithological surveys
• Supporting ecological impact assessments and planning applications
• Preparing ecological reports, management plans and monitoring documentation
• Working as an Ecological Clerk of Works where required
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other environmental professionals

To be considered for the Ecologist position, you will need:

• Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related subject

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
