The role
As an Ecologist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will implement the environmental elements of the Babcock Rail compliance management system, including environmental policies, risk assessments, procedures and guidance notes, and will communicate these to internal and external parties.

Day-to-day, You will be responsible for implementing the operational aspects of the companies Sustainability Strategy, focussing activities on the Workplace, Marketplace and Community. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide specialist advice on sustainability and environmental legislative and contractual compliance for the project.
  • Manage the project’s Environmental Management Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Environmental Risk Profile and Aspects and Impact register.
  • Develop within the environmental management platform a project specific Environment and Sustainability Threats and Opportunities profile.
  • Implementing and continuous improvement of the Babcock Rail compliance management system to the ISO 14001 standard for the site.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Cadder Yard, Glasgow. Travel to different sites is required.

Essential experience of the Ecologist.

  • You need knowledge and experience being an Ecologist.
  • You must be willing to travel and have a full UK driving license.

Qualifications for the Ecologist.

  • You must have an Environmental or Ecology Qualification.
