Job summary

Sulis Hospital Bath seeks a highly motivated Registered Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist or Healthcare Scientist to join our cardiology team. The role requires full BSE accreditation and echocardiography skills within a private hospital setting.

This is a permanent position (full-time or part-time) with DBS clearance, ongoing CPD, and a focus on delivering high standards of patient care. You will perform echocardiograms with reporting and support non-invasive tests while maintaining

Qualifications

  • Current BSE Accreditation is required.
  • AHSC or RCCP registration is essential.
  • Cardiac physiology qualification or equivalent (e.g., Clinical cardiology degree, PTP HCS) required.
  • Strong IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification cardiology experience.
  • Ability to prepare and present topics in cardiology/service delivery (rare).
  • Confident and reassuring demeanour; strong customer service skills.
  • Experience of full ambulatory analysis to support juniors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms with full reporting and documentation.
  • Carry out non-invasive cardiac tests as required.
  • Work independently while contributing to a developing cardiology team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and care of consumables/equipment.

Sulis Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in Somerset, has opportunities for Highly specialist cardiac physiologists with full BSE accreditation and echocardiography skills to join our cardiology team.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for motivated and passionate individuals to work flexibly as part of our hospitals developing Cardiology team providing the highest standards of professional care to patients and to make a positive contribution towards the teams pursuit of excellence. A friendly manner is essential as you will need to be able to communicate with patients and put them at ease during this vulnerable time along with high attention to detail to ensure your documentation is accurate. You will be responsible for undertaking echocardiograms with full reporting, other non-invasive tests and be involved in the consumable and equipment care. The ability to work independently is essential.

Job responsibilities

Permanent - Full time or Part Time hours could be considered
Including some occasional weekend working
This role requires DBS clearance
Immediate life support certificate - training will be provided and full compliance will be required as part of your probation period.

Essential
  • Current BSE Accreditation
  • AHSC or RCCP registration
  • Cardiac physiology qualification or equivalence (eg Clinical cardiology degree, PTP HCS etc)
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in computer skills to include word, excel and outlook
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification cardiology experience
  • Ability to prepare and present on topics in cardiology/ service delivery (Rare)
  • Confident and reassuring demeanour
  • Customer service skills
  • Experience of full ambulatory analysis to support juniors
Desirable
  • Previous experience in using Spacelabs healthcare equipment
  • Knowledge of BSE standards and up to date policies
  • Experience of exercise testing
  • Experience in triage processes
  • SCST certificate or diploma
  • Participation in pacing services
  • Management /leadership qualification
  • Immediate Life Support certificate training will be provided, and full compliance will be required as part of your probation period.
