Qualifications

  • SC clearance preferred or the ability to obtain.

EC&I Designer - PFCS Project (Sellafield)

Contract | £35-£42/hour (Inside IR35)

Warrington | Hybrid - 3 days on site / 2 days remote

Sector: Nuclear | PFCS Programme

Are you an experienced EC&I Designer looking to contribute to one of Sellafield's most challenging decommissioning programmes? This is a hands‑on role supporting the PFCS (Pile Fuel Cladding Silo) project, delivering high‑quality EC&I design packages for safety‑critical systems.

You'll work within a collaborative engineering team, producing and checking designs, documentation, and drawings that underpin project delivery. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining three days per week in Warrington with remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and develop EC&I design packages, drawings, and technical documentation for PFCS systems
  • Review and update existing designs to meet project requirements and engineering standards
  • Ensure designs comply with Sellafield procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with multi‑discipline teams, including mechanical, structural, and project engineering colleagues
  • Support design verification, technical reviews, and design substantiation
  • Mentor and guide junior EC&I designers where required
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an EC&I Designer in nuclear or highly regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, control, and instrumentation design principles
  • Experience producing engineering drawings, technical documentation, and design deliverables
  • Understanding of relevant standards and site procedures
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
