Job description

We’re at our best when we have something to drive us forward, a belief that underlines who we are and what we do. Our Purpose. We want to make people happier about money – and that idea starts with every single one of us here at Virgin Money. Feeling Insatiably Curious about your next adventure? You might have just found it.

It’s an exciting time to join our Business Banking Financial Crime team. The team provides specialist first-line advice, oversight and challenge to help Business Banking understand and manage the financial crime risks associated with its customers, products, propositions and services. Working closely with Customer & Operations, Payments, Risk, Compliance and delivery partners, we help embed sustainable controls while supporting positive customer outcomes.

As a Business Banking Economic Crime subject matter expert, you’ll translate Economic Crime Policies, Group Minimum Control Standards and risk appetite into practical requirements across the Business Banking customer lifecycle. You’ll lead impact and gap assessments, advise on customer journeys, products and controls, and support the management of breaches, waivers, dispensations and control issues. You’ll maintain effective oversight of activity delivered on behalf of Business Banking by Customer & Operations, Payments and third-party or offshore partners, and use management information to identify emerging portfolio risks, control weaknesses and remediation priorities. You’ll provide clear, evidence-based advice and constructive challenge through Business Banking and Economic Crime governance, while supporting change and transformation delivery.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll be located at our nearest regional office or hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration and in some locations you’ll be expected to spend at least two days a week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, in the office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.

Virgin Money is now part of Nationwide
