A London-based health services trust is seeking an experienced EBME/Clinical Engineering Senior Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of medical devices. The Post holder is responsible for working in a clinical area or technical (workshop) to carry out scheduled/planned preventative maintenance, servicing, repair, calibration, safety and acceptance testing on medical devices.
The Post holder is expected to have the ability and knowledge to work on high, medium and low risk medical devices and work independently.
The Post overall will support the repair, maintenance and Preventative maintenance of medical equipment in accordance to the medical device management guidance 2015.
The Post holder must be able to communicate effectively using good negotiation skills to clinical, technical and OEM support staff. Within this the ability to identify faults should underpin a cost-effective solution to a wide range of medical equipment repairs but the use of high standards of safety with accountability must be evident.
The Post holder should have the ability and knowledge to work independently and be able to disseminate complex solutions and apply their knowledge to other staff.
In support of this, the post holder will adhere to any training guidance as identified in the PDR (personal development review) and TNA (training needs analysis) supporting the pathway expected of a senior level expert of this field.
The departments' opening hours are currently Monday to Friday 08.00 to 17.30 excluding weekends and bank holidays.
This role does involve indirect working with patients.

The EBME Department is looking for an experienced EBME Senior Technician to join their team in the day to day maintenance of Medical Equipment at the Hospital and centres where Croydon University Hospital provides care.
The post holder will be expected to deliver a high standard of work relating to EBME across its multiple sites.
Our main aim is to provide and efficient and safe service to patients and stakeholders and offer excellent customer care to patients, their families and colleagues that use all our services at our multiple sites across Croydon.
