Hours: 12 hours per week
The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning & Employability at Kingston College is seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach GCSE Computer Science and BTEC First Award in Information and Creative Technology. The role will commence in August 2025. The students are enrolled in either the ESOL Level 1 Horizons course or the full-time GCSE Course.
Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing student assessment strategies in line with college policies and awarding body requirements. You will participate in professional development activities such as lesson observations, training sessions, and qualification acquisition. As an active member of the course team, you will attend meetings and in-service training, handle teaching and administrative duties, and stay informed about Quality Improvement initiatives and service standards.
Applicants should hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, possess a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one), and demonstrate excellent teaching skills in Computer Science with recent professional development. Awareness of academic quality standards, high personal standards, enthusiasm, and passion for education are essential.
You should be adept at using new technologies to enhance teaching and learning, capable of supporting and motivating learners, monitoring their progress, and possessing strong planning, organisational, and administrative skills. Attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines are also important.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review in the upcoming academic year.
