An opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Eating Disorder Practitioner Nurse to join the SEDS Service. We are a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering NICE recommended treatments and aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders.

The post will be supervised by a senior member of the team. There will be extensive opportunities for being involved in research/service development and nurturing special interests.

Covering the whole of Sussex, SEDS provides specialist eating disorder services across a large geographical area. With the introduction of remote working, there is scope, where possible, to tailor your working pattern/location to the needs of both the service and you. Currently we are keen to recruit from across Sussex.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role
  • The post holder will provide specialist eating disorder assessment and interventions including delivering evidenced based treatment to adults with eating disorders in an outpatient setting.
  • To be responsible for own clinical caseload and work autonomously
  • To monitor and report on progress of out-of-area placements and ensure robust follow-up care is in place for preparation for service users returning to local services.
  • To provide specialist advice and consultation to internal and external colleagues
  • You will provide NICE recommended therapy for eating disorders
  • To monitor and promote the health of patients with eating disorders.
  • To provide supervision to junior members of the team.
  • To contribute to discussion on care planning and risk assessment as part of the multi disciplinary team.
  • To build understanding of physical health associated with eating disorders, liaise and consult as appropriate within the wider multi disciplinary team.
  • Build sound relationships with neighbouring services and professionals.

We are committed to supporting staff well-being. We have close links with the local universities and support the training schemes, providing high quality student placements.

The trust is committed to strong integrated, collaborative leadership between managers and clinicians.

Your Benefits
  • Access to full psychological support, via our internal wellbeing team
  • Excellent supervision programmes, with ongoing opportunities for training and development
  • Access to a host of discount schemes
  • A position within a trust rated as ‘Outstanding’ for caring and ‘Good’ overall by the CQC
  • Excellent NHS Pension
  • Generous holiday entitlement (starting at 27 days + 8 bank holidays)
