A leading healthcare provider based in Cardiff is seeking a Stock Management Technician. The role involves ordering, preparing, and maintaining equipment and spare parts for the Electronic Assistive Technology Service. Successful candidates should have an NVQ 3 and prior experience in customer care or procurement. The ability to communicate in Welsh is beneficial. The Electronic Assistive Technology Service Wales (EAT) provides a holistic assessment, trials, long term loan and maintenance service that aims to enhance our patients' independence, mobility and ability to communicate. The EAT service is made up of four services, but to a large extent operates as a single entity with a common referral pathway, triage and treatment regimen. The Service is provided by a range of registered healthcare professionals that include Clinical Scientists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Technologists, supported by unregistered support staff e.g. Administrators, Technical Instructors and hopefully soon - by you as the Stock Management Technician.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering and preparation of requested EAT equipment, as well as for maintaining adequate stock levels of spare parts. They will receive, check and distribute deliveries of the above equipment, including posting it further to remote service bases.

The post holder will work as a senior member of the purchasing and supply team supporting in the purchase, supply and preparation of medical equipment and consumables for Electronic Assistive Technology Services.
They will ensure that equipment stock levels are maintained at an optimum level to ensure smooth and timely delivery of the services to patients.
To utilise the computerised ALAS stock control system (BEST) and Oracle for ordering, receipt, control and distribution of equipment.
Support the manager and the administrative team in the administrative function as required.
To provide support to a variety of members of staff (both clinical and non‑clinical) working within the Electronic Assistive Technology Services.
Support the stock lead in the supervision and training of other staff.
