About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80 km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. The Earthworks Engineer will assist the Excavated Materials Manager in ensuring the collation and reporting of earthworks volumes and Materials Management Plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, reviewing and validating reported volumes, materials quality and suitability of use from the Digital Earthworks platform and the Earthworks delivery, logistics and construction teams.
  • Updating the HS2 materials tracking document and managing the HS2 summarised earthworks quantity schedule.
  • Working with the delivery team to mitigate inconsistencies and providing guidance on Materials Management Plans, Remediation Strategy and Verification Plans, Soil Resource Plans, Summarised Earthworks Quantity Schedule, Undertakings & Assurances.
  • Providing accurate checks and validation on earthworks production data – e.g., volumes.
  • Liaising with the Delivery and Quality Assurance teams to assist with the collection of site information and records to facilitate compliance with the Materials Management Plan and Verification report.
