Job summary

John Taylor Multi Academy Trust (JTMAT) seeks an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant for a fixed-term, part-time role. The post supports an EHCP pupil and includes personal and intimate care responsibilities, with a focus on safeguarding and welfare across the Early Years setting.

Hours are 19 per week across Monday-Tuesday mornings and Wednesday-Friday mornings/afternoons as stated; salary is pro rata in Grade 4.

  • Effective communication with parents and carers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the teacher in adapting planning and resources to meet individual needs of a pupil with an EHCP.
  • Provide learning support to pupils.
  • Support the intimate care needs and personal needs of pupils in Early Years.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils.
  • Liaise effectively and professionally with parents and carers.
  • Support the ethos of the school and Early Years department.

Job description

Early Years Teaching Assistant
Fixed term until 31.8.27, Part time 19 hours per week working Monday and Tuesday 8.45am to 12noon; Wednesday and Thursday 8.45am to 11.45am, Friday – 8.45am to 3.15pm

Salary: Grade 4 (SCP 6 – 7) £26,847 - £27,274 per annum pro rata

Actual salary: £11,910.95 - £12,100.39 per annum

  • Support the teacher in adapting planning and resources to meet the individual needs of a pupil with an EHCP

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils
  • Liaise effectively and professionally with parents and carers
  • Support the ethos of the school and Early Years department
