Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking a Best Start Inclusion Practitioner to support children aged 0-5 with emerging or identified SEND. The role covers Family Hubs, early years settings and community venues, focusing on inclusive practice and early intervention to help children thrive.

Qualifications

Experience supporting children aged 0-5 with SEND
Knowledge of child development, early identification, inclusive practice, SEND legislation, safeguarding and the graduated approach
Experience in a multi-agency environment and building positive relationships with children, families and professionals

Responsibilities

Deliver direct support to children and families and carry out observations and assessments
Model inclusive practice and provide SEND advice and guidance
Contribute to workforce development and collaborate with education, health and early help services
Translate national policy into day-to-day practice across Best Start Family Hubs and early years settings
Support school readiness and reduce inequalities through targeted inclusion work
